Emerging Issues in Food & Drug Law Seminar

Date: March 1, 2010

In November 2009, WTP's Life Sciences group organized and co-hosted an all-day seminar with the University of Maryland's School of Law and the School of Pharmacy's Center on Drugs & Public Policy, with additional support from Greenleaf Health LLC.

This national conference for lawyers and policy makers highlighted WTP's experience in the food and drug area, with significant contributions from firm lawyers Jeremiah J. Kelly, an eight year veteran of FDA's Office of the Commissioner before entering private practice, and Bruce Lehman, Former Commissioner of Patent and Trademarks.

Other panelists included Sheldon Bradshaw, Esq., former FDA Chief Counsel and now a partner at Hunton & Williams; Brian Wolfman, counsel for the respondent in Wyeth v. Levine, Shawn Brown from the Generic Pharmaceutical Association; Kay Holcombe, Genzyme Corporation; and Elizabeth H. Dickinson, Associate Chief Counsel for Drugs at the FDA. Gardner Duvall, the head of WTP's Product Design, Manufacturing and Distribution group, presented the firm's congratulations to the Health Care Law program on its 25th anniversary.

Papers from each of the speakers will be published in the spring issue of the University of Maryland School of Law's Journal of Healthcare Law & Policy. Please note on the order form that you are interested in Issue Two of Volume 13.
