John B. Gontrum to Lead Baltimore County Bar Association
Baltimore – Whiteford, Taylor & Preston L.L.P. is pleased to announce that John B. Gontrum will be president of the Baltimore County Bar Association for 2004 - 2005. He will assume the office on June 24, 2004. Mr. Gontrum is the third Whiteford, Taylor & Preston attorney to serve as president of the Baltimore County Bar Association, joining Ernest Trimble (1981) and J. Norris Byrnes (1995- 96). Mr. Gontrum is counsel in the Real Estate and Land Use practice group in Whiteford, Taylor & Preston's Towson Office. In addition to his extensive legal work, Mr. Gontrum is active in the community, serving as vice chairman of the Franklin Square Hospital Board, co-chairman of the Essex Middle River Urban Design Assistance Team steering committee, and board member of the YMCA of Central Maryland. Mr. Gontrum received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law and his B.A. from Duke University. He is admitted to practice in the State of Maryland.
