Thomas C. Barbuti to Chair the Real Property, Planning and Zoning Section of the MSBA
Baltimore - June 20, 2005 - Whiteford Taylor & Preston L.L.P. is pleased to announce that Thomas C. Barbuti has been elected Chair of the Real Property, Planning and Zoning Section of the Maryland State Bar Association ("MSBA"). Mr. Barbuti was inducted as Chair at the 2005 Annual MSBA meeting in Ocean City, Maryland on June 18th. The mission of the Real Property and Zoning Section of the MSBA is to bring together real estate and land use practitioners from around the state concerned with the law that relates to real property, and generally to promote the interest and welfare of the public and members of the Bar in the field of real property. More than 1,500 Maryland real estate lawyers are members of the Section. Mr. Barbuti has over 31 years' experience in real estate law. He counsels numerous clients, providing advice with regard to all aspects of complex commercial real estate transactions, including acquisition, development, financing, leasing and sales of residential subdivisions, multi-family shopping centers, industrial parks and office buildings. Mr. Barbuti is a frequent author and lecturer on real estate topics. He is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, the American Bar Association, the Maryland Bar Association, and the International Council of Shopping Centers. Mr. Barbuti received his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Maryland. Mr. Barbuti lives in Baltimore City.
