Virginia Lawyers Weekly Recognizes Betsy Davis and Rachel Carey

Virginia Lawyers Weekly has recognized Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Davis as a “Leader in Law” and Rachel Carey as an “Up & Coming Lawyer.” Leaders in Law are recognized for significant contributions to Virginia’s legal practice, improvements to the justice system, and impactful community involvement. The Up & Coming Lawyers program honors attorneys in their first 10 years who demonstrate emerging leadership and notable achievements.

Betsy Davis, Leader in Law, Labor and Employment

Ms. Davis is a Co-Chair of the Labor and Employment Group at Whiteford. She advises management on all aspects of labor and employment law, serving clients across industries such as healthcare, education, manufacturing and more. She regularly represents employers in state and federal courts in the areas of discrimination, fair labor standards, family and medical leave, wrongful discharge, covenants not to compete, breaches of employment contracts, as well as other state and federal employment issues.

Rachel Carey, Up & Coming, Healthcare Law

Ms. Carey’s  practice spans the healthcare landscape, with a particular focus on regulatory compliance, reimbursement and related healthcare issues. Drawing on her legal experience and background in managed-care organizations, she provides practical counsel and insights into reimbursement practices. She advises a range of healthcare providers, from independent practitioners and start-ups to large health systems and specialized care providers.
