Whiteford Expansion in Richmond

Date: July 11, 2024
Whiteford has expanded its office footprint in Richmond, reflecting a continuing commitment to growth in the region and confidence in the area’s dynamic business and legal landscape. Since opening an office in Richmond with three attorneys in 2018, the firm has seen a steady increase in demand for services, particularly in the areas of litigation, transactional, tax and bankruptcy matters for mid-sized businesses.

Now at 24 lawyers in Richmond, Whiteford has outgrown the 17th floor in Two James Center downtown and taken over part of the building’s 20th floor. On signing the lease, Whiteford renovated the new space into multiple conference rooms and a lounge area with a panoramic view of the James River. At the same time, the move allows for renovations on the 17th floor that will increase the office count from 25 to 34.

While the expansion adds a significant number of new offices, it is also a strategic step towards fostering the in-person, collaborative environment that has become a hallmark of the Richmond office. In the words of Richmond Managing Partner Vern Inge, “We have found our stride in providing a full range of business law services to a rapidly growing client base.”
