Whiteford, Taylor & Preston Expands Falls Church, Virginia, Office

Date: August 14, 2009

Baltimore - Whiteford, Taylor & Preston has announced that its Falls Church office has expanded by an additional 4,400 square feet.

Martin Fletcher, the firm's Managing Partner, noted, "We opened the northern Virginia office in 2007 in response to client demand, and originally planned to grow gradually to 15 lawyers. Instead, pushed by growth in our Community Associations and Business Reorganization/Bankruptcy practices, we have already shot up to 16 lawyers who are based there, not to mention the many DC lawyers who use the offices regularly to meet with clients based in Virginia. The new space in the Virginia office will facilitate our further growth."

Since January of 2009, the firm has added seven lawyers in the DC - Falls Church offices: three in the Nonprofit Organizations practice, two in Business Reorganizations/Bankruptcy, one in Global, and one in Community Associations.

The firm's Community Associations practice, with over 20 lawyers, is recognized as the leading group in the region. It represents over 500 condominium and homeowners' associations across northern Virginia, the District of Columbia, and the surrounding Maryland suburbs.

The senior lawyers in the Falls Church office now include:

  • Ray Diaz, a former president of the Virginia State Bar and a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, who is also listed in Best Lawyers in America
  • Eileen Johnson, former General Counsel of the National Wildlife Federation
  • Christopher Jones, listed as a "Rising Star" in the last three editions of the Virginia Super Lawyers, and newly listed in Best Lawyers in America
  • Bradford Englander, recognized in Maryland Super Lawyers.
