WTP/UMBC Entrepreneurship Speaker Series - Spring 2004 Schedule

The Speaker series, presented under the auspices of the Alex. Brown Center for Science and Technology Entrepreneurship at UMBC, provides a monthly forum for successful technology entrepreneurs to share their experiences and insights with UMBC students, faculty, staff, alumni and the Baltimore business community. The series highlights experiences, lessons learned and unique challenges faced by technology entrepreneurs in the creation of a new enterprise.

Vivian Armor, Director of the Entrepreneurship Center explains, "This is a great opportunity for students to learn from experienced entrepreneurs. We thank Whiteford for supporting this program to help budding entrepreneurs in our region."

The Alex.Brown Center for Science and Technology Entrepreneurship was established in 2000 through a generous gift of $1M from the Alex. Brown Foundation. The Center develops innovative educational programs, internships and services to support the creation of entrepreneurism in the region.

Programs for spring 2004:

  • Feb 18 - David Bach, CEO Scientific Products and Solutions (This company is located in the UMBC techcenter)
  • Mar 15 - Keri Burneston, Founder, Fluid Movements (Keri is a UMBC alum)
  • Apr 9 - Jerry South, CEO, Towne Park (Jerry won the 2003 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Business Services category)

All talks will be in the UMBC University Center - Room 310 from 1:00 - 2:00.
