Andrew Terrell Receives Rising Star Award
January 8, 2006 – Baltimore – Whiteford, Taylor & Preston LLP (WTP) is delighted to announce that Andrew J. Terrell, a partner and head of the firm's Washington, D.C. office, was recently honored with a Rising Star Award from the Washington Metropolitan Chapter of the Community Associations Institute. The volunteer award was presented on January 4, 2007, at the chapter's Jumpstart January Breakfast Reception, which was attended by over 150 community association leaders.
With over 15 years of legal experience, Terrell's practice includes business, real estate, and community association litigation. He has represented small to large companies and community associations in general business affairs and litigation, and nonprofit and trade associations in D.C. and Virginia. Terrell has litigated cases on issues including: toxic tort, product liability, employment law, community association fair housing complaints, contract disputes, construction law, insurance defense, and coverage issues. A member of the American Bar Association, Terrell is also a member of the District of Columbia Bar, the Alexandria Bar, and the Virginia Bar.
The Washington Metropolitan Chapter of Community Associations Institute (WMCCAI) serves the educational, business, and networking needs of community associations in 20 cities/counties in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Members include condominium, cooperative, and homeowner associations as well as those who provide services and products to associations. The Washington Metropolitan Chapter, a national, nonprofit 501(c)(6) association created in 1973, has more 2,600 members including 400 businesses, 200 professional managers from 100 management companies, and community volunteers from more than 800 associations representing 260,000 households.
