Commercial Litigation Attorney Joins Whiteford in Virginia

With over three decades of experience as a commercial trial attorney, Mr. Cox litigates all types of business cases in courts across the nation. He also represents clients in government investigations by such agencies as the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). His experience includes six years as an Assistant Director with the PCAOB’s Division of Enforcement and Investigations. He has significant experience representing accounting firms and their partners and employees in accountant's liability matters, including in enforcement proceedings by the SEC, the PCAOB and state boards of accountancy. He is co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Professional Liability Litigation Committee and has authored several articles and treatises chapters on topics involving securities, antitrust, and litigation.
