Paul Nussbaum Named to Equal Justice Council

Date: February 7, 2013

Baltimore, MD -- Paul M. Nussbaum, Chair of the Business Reorganization and Bankruptcy Litigation group at Whiteford Taylor & Preston LLP, has been appointed to the Equal Justice Council.

The Council is a group of lawyers in private practice who serve as the fundraising arm of Maryland Legal Aid. The Council's mission is both to increase Legal Aid's resources, so it can better meet the needs of low-income people, and also to serve as ambassadors to the public about the importance of Legal Aid's programs.

Mr. Nussbaum commented, "I am excited to join the Council and its distinguished members, and to participate with them in the critical mission of helping serve people of need in Maryland. I am particularly honored to have been welcomed to join this dedicated organization since the late Woody Preston, one of our firm's founders, was also a founder and former Chairman of the Council."

Mr. Nussbaum has been recognized as the "Best Bankruptcy Lawyer in Maryland" (Benchmark Litigation 2009) and as one of the leading bankruptcy attorneys in the Northeast U.S. (Legal 500, 2009). He has been named in Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, and Maryland Super Lawyers continuously for many years. The practice he chairs comprises over 25 lawyers in Wilmington, Baltimore, Washington and Northern Virginia, and has been recognized nationally for both its bankruptcy litigation and workout practice as well as its innovative Special Counsel Litigation Services Group.
