Steve Tiller Named President-Elect of the Ft. Meade Alliance
Hanover, MD -- The Fort Meade Alliance (FMA) has named Steven Tiller, a partner with Whiteford, Taylor & Preston, as FMA President-Elect and Joseph V. Pacileo, vice president at TASC, Inc., as FMA Vice President.
“Thanks to the outstanding work of our board of directors, the Fort Meade Alliance is stronger and more ambitious than ever,” said FMA President Deon Viergutz. “Steve and Joe are well respected and effective leaders who will continue to advance the FMA's priorities.”
Tiller will begin his three-year term as president in July 2015. Viergutz, director of operations at Lockheed Martin Cyber Solutions, has led the non-profit organization since July 2012. Pacileo, an FMA board member since July 2011, begins his term effective immediately.
Tiller is a member of the FMA Executive Committee and chairs the organization's Meade Business Connect committee, an FMA initiative that helps small and large companies make meaningful business connections through targeted business information, capability matching, networking and mentorship programs.
Tiller focuses his law practice on technology and intellectual property litigation and serves as a co-chair of Whiteford, Taylor & Preston's Intellectual Property and Technology practice group, which was one of only 27 firms nationwide ranked in the top tier for Technology by U.S. News & World Report.
Tiller's goals for his three-year term are to continue to strengthen the organization's programs and outreach.
“I am excited for the opportunity to serve as president of the Fort Meade Alliance,” Tiller said. “Together we will continue to engage the community in support of Fort George G. Meade, one of Maryland's key economic assets.”
Pacileo retired from the U.S. Army as a Colonel after serving 25 distinguished years. As a Military Intelligence officer, Pacileo served in a variety of command and staff positions throughout the world including multiple assignments at Fort George. G. Meade. As a vice president at TASC, Inc., Pacileo remains focused in support of the Fort Meade mission.
“Joe brings an important and unique understanding of Fort Meade, the DoD and Intelligence community and will be extremely important in the coming years as Fort Meade's world-wide missions continue to expand” Viergutz said.
“Both of these appointments firmly positions FMA to continue its strong impact in the region in education, workforce, business, military and their families.” Viergutz added.
