WTP Appoints Director of Marketing and Business Development
(BALTIMORE) December 1, 2005 - Whiteford, Taylor & Preston, L.L.P., announced today that Laura E. Perry has been named the Firm's Director of Marketing and Business Development. Ms. Perry was formerly a Director in the marketing department at DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary LLP.
"We are delighted to welcome Laura to our team," said Albert J. Mezzanotte, Jr., Whiteford Taylor's managing partner. "She has a wealth of experience in law firm marketing, particularly in the areas of business development and communications, and is well-known in Baltimore."
Paul M. Nussbaum, head of the firm's Business Development Committee, added, "The Firm has a great story to tell, and Laura's experience and leadership will help us to get the word out about our strong practices and lawyers."
Ms. Perry received her B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University and her J.D. from the University of Chicago. She was the first Director of Marketing at the firm then known as Piper & Marbury, building its marketing function while the firm expanded rapidly from a regional to a national firm. She served two terms as President of the Baltimore chapter of the Legal Marketing Association; has been on the board and executive committee of the Parks & People Foundation for over 15 years; served as chairman of the Board of Recreation & Parks for the City of Baltimore in the 1990s; and was formerly a board and executive committee member of the Greater Homewood Community Corporation. She is currently an Adjunct Faculty member of the Johns Hopkins School of Professional Studies in Business and Education.
