Jeff Glassie Joins Whiteford, Taylor & Preston
Washington, D.C. – Whiteford, Taylor & Preston is delighted to announce that Jefferson C. Glassie has joined the firm's Nonprofit Organizations Group as a partner. He is based in the firm's Washington office and will Co-Chair the firm's nonprofit practice. Accompanying him in his move to the firm is an associate, Megan Spratt.

Mr. Glassie joins the firm from Pillsbury LLP, where he was a partner. He has over 30 years' experience in the field and has represented associations and nonprofit organizations on a wide range of legal matters, including antitrust, tax, certification, accreditation, contracts, employment, merger, intellectual property and corporate issues. In addition, he has significant experience in international legal issues as applied to nonprofit organizations and associations. He has written a book on the topic, International Legal Issues for Nonprofit Organizations (2nd Ed.), and is co-author of Certification and Accreditation Law Handbook (2nd Ed.). He has been active in the American Society of Association Executives, having chaired the Legal Section and serving as chair of the annual Law Symposium three times.
Mr. Glassie is a graduate of the University of Virginia (B.A., 1975) and received his law degree with honors from George Washington University Law School in 1985. He is admitted to practice in both D.C. and Maryland.
Ms. Spratt received her J.D. with honors from the George Washington School of Law in 2008 and her B.A. from Johns Hopkins in 2005, also with honors. Prior to receiving her law degree, she served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Marvin J. Garbis and as a Mayoral Fellow with the Mayor's Office of Neighborhoods in Baltimore, Maryland. She has practiced in the nonprofit area for several years, counseling trade and professional associations, charitable entities, and other nonprofit organizations on a wide variety of legal matters, including intellectual property, tax, , mergers, contracts, certification, and corporate issues.
